A transport planner with over 17 years of experience, Carolyn’s focus of work has always been in the development planning space, ranging from the development of new: roads, railway stations, towns and renewable energy solutions through to residential, mixed-use, industrial, and commercial schemes.
She is therefore acutely aware of the commercial and legislative challenges associated with development however also supports and recognises the opportunities within land use planning to prioritize the paradigm shift to net carbon. Carolyn provides support and guidance to everyone ranging from individual landowners, investment firms and developers through to local authorities throughout the development process including for due diligence, masterplanning, stakeholder/public engagement to planning application submission and consent negotiations.
In addition to her technical role Carolyn leads Meinhardt’s business in Scotland, lecturers to peers on Transport Assessments, is past Chair of CIHT Scotland, guest lectures at Glasgow Caledonian University, and is a Glasgow Urban Design Panellist.
