Sonnedix Solar Array
A visual structural survey of the Sonnedix solar array installations in Istres Sulauze and St Martin de Crau near Marseille in France was undertaken.
The main focus was primarily on the glue-laminated timber beams, which the Client expressed concern about.
The glue-laminated timber beams are typically in 12 metre lengths, spanning with some continuity between the support frames which are either at 4 metre or 6 metre centres.
A report providing observations of defects and recommendations for remedial works, design modifications and ongoing monitoring was provided.
